Teen accused of stabbing mother during argument over chores

Police have arrested a teenage boy accused of stabbing his mother during an argument over his chores.

A child in the home in the 600 block of West August called 911 a little after 4:30 p.m. Thursday and told dispatchers someone had been stabbed. Officers arrived to find a woman who had been stabbed in the abdomen, said police spokesman Cpl. Jordan Ferguson.

The woman has serious injuries and her condition was unknown Thursday evening.

The teen, who is not being identified because he is a juvenile, is facing a charge of first-degree domestic violence assault.
