Jim passed away on March 1, 2016 in Spokane, WA.
He was born in Burlington, KS to Francis and Ethel Schneider.
Jim graduated from Burlington High School in 1947 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1948.
He earned the Korean Service Medal in 1951 before his honorable discharge in 1952.
After marrying Wilma Ruth McDowell in 1951, Jim worked throughout the nation as a Boeing Mechanic and for the Ironworkers Union before settling in Spokane in 1976.
Jim is survived by his wife Wilma; children Andy (Kim) Schneider of Snoqualmie, WA and Kathy Williams of Stafford, VA; grandchildren: Josh, Cassie, Jason, and Talia; great-grandchildren: Grace, Eleanor, Jason, Jaxon, and Carlo; siblings: Theresa Jones of Topeka, KS, Robert Schneider of Denver, CO, and Joan Suddarth of Florida.
Jim was a former Post Commander of VFW 1474 in Hillyard, WA.
Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music, puzzles, and playing pinochle with family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
