Obituary: Delaney, Michael James

Age 67

DELANEY,
Michael
James
(Age 67)

Born August 15, 1948 in Salem, Oregon, passed away peacefully in his Cheney, Washington home on March 22, 2016.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilda Delaney, and younger brother Daniel Delaney.

He is survived by his loving wife Allison; son Ryan Delaney; daughter Ashley Wickward; step-daughter Kendra Grimes; siblings, Debra Cates, Pat Delaney and Janice Delaney-Hill; and grandchildren Lacee, Anson, and Delaney.

Mike graduated from North Salem High School in 1966, was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, attended Chemeketa Community College and OSU.

He later made Cheney, WA his home.

He owned and managed the AAA Inn, a family business that has been an iconic part of Cheney for over 25 years.

He was a great man with an even greater heart.

Mike was a devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed bike rides, camping, skiing, and road trips on his Harley.

His greatest love was spending time with family and friends boating at the lake.

If anyone ever needed a helping hand or an ear to bend, Mike would always welcome them to sit by the fire and share their stories.

Mike was a rock for so many people; he will be missed to the moon and back.

Mike’s celebration of life will be held at Zentropa Pizzeria & Pub (120 College Ave. Cheney, WA) on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 from 1:00-4:00pm.
