Obituary: Goyins, Gary Dean

Gary was born August 4, 1929 to George and Mary Goyins in Great Falls, MT.

He lived in Stanford, MT, where he graduated from high school.

After high school he attended the University of Montana in Bozeman for one year and then decided to join the Army during the “Korean Conflict”.

He was stationed at Ft.

Hood, Killeen, Texas and while in the Army went overseas for a tour of duty.

When he returned to Ft.

Hood he met and married his first wife LaVerne Goyins.

They eventually ended up in Spokane where he finished his schooling and received his CPA license.

After working for a private CPA firm, Gary went to work for Bitco, Inc. which later became Kaman Bearing.

He retired in 1987 after 26 years.

Gary married his current wife, Karen in 1974 and they enjoyed fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, boating, spending Friday night at the Valley Eagles with friends and especially traveling.

Gary’s favorite memory of traveling was their cruise through the Panama Canal.



Gary was preceeded in death by his parents and sister Lorraine Licht, Kennewick, WA.



Gary is survived by his wife Karen; children Gregg (Diane) Goyins, Lincoln, CA, Bruce (Joleen) Goyins, Westminister, CO, and Paul Goyins, Dallas, TX; step-children Brian (Linda) Haase, Craig Haase, and Amber Haase, all of Spokane, WA; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister Peggy Wirtala, Billings, MT; and his brother-in-law, Gary (Cecile) Horn, Lebanon, OR, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Service for Gary will be on May 7th at 3:00 P.M. at the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church located at N. 115 Raymond Rd.

with a celebration of life to follow at the Spokane Valley Eagles located at 16801 E. Sprague Ave.
