Laura Harpel passed away on April 28th, 2016 in Spokane, WA at the age of 93.

She was born here in Spokane on April 25th, 1923 to Warren and Inis Houston.

Laura graduated from North Central High School and a few years later she married her husband of over 60 years, Bill Harpel.

They enjoyed spending many summers with their family at their cabin on Newman Lake.

Laura also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Garden Club; she was also a member of her local bowling team.
Laura is survived by her children, Sue (Jay) Cook and Dave (Toni) Harpel; her grandkids, Christopher, William and Jessica; her aunt, Maxie Retter who will be 97 this year; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and her siblings, June Young and Dan Houston.

A celebration of Laura’s life will be held on Friday, May 6th at 11am at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
