She also leaves behind a brother, Ron and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Clare was very active at Central Lutheran Church for over 40 years.

Her faith sustained her through the sudden loss of Jim.

Her friends’ support was outstanding throughout her life.

She had wonderful times in Spokane, at various lakes, in Europe and Hawaii with them, as well as in Seattle, where she moved to help raise her grandchildren.

Those children were the loves of her life.
Clare loved creating with the arts.

She painted, quilted, sewed, knitted and refinished and caned furniture.

She canned quantities of fruit and vegetables each summer.

She was a very good cook and loved entertaining in her immaculate home or in the beautiful back yard.

She loved singing in the church choir and volunteering, as well as her various jobs.
A fact about Clare that most people do not know is that she was forced to quit school in the 8th grade and went to work in a laundry to help support her family during the Great Depression.
Clare will be remembered as a loyal friend with a generous spirit.

The family would like to thank the “God Squad” and other devoted friends and caregivers a for being with her right up until her passing.

Special thanks to Leila Roche, Don Lewis and Mike and Dianne Roche and family.

Clare is now in God’s arms and with Jim.
At Clare’s request, no funeral service will be held.

A private graveside service will take place this summer when the family can congregate.
