Spokane campus to highlight National Salvation Army Week

From staff reports

National Salvation Army Week starts Monday.

The week was first declared by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954 to celebrate volunteers, donors and program beneficiaries. Spokane’s Salvation Army campus is located at 222 E. Indiana Ave.

“In Spokane we just want to promote for people to come on campus and take tours, to learn more about what we do,” spokeswoman Sheila Geraghty said.

For tours, call Geraghty at (509) 329-2726 to schedule a time between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Salvation Army of Spokane is also preparing to be in the Lilac Parade. The float will celebrate the 125th anniversary this year of the Salvation Army being in Spokane, with people dressed in vintage uniforms.
