PRENTICE, Bene
Albina M. Prentice “Bene” passed away peacefully at her home on April 27th, 2016.
She was surrounded by her loving family and dogs.
Born in Sand Coulee, MT on March 6, 1925 to Natalie and Mark Marchett.
Her family moved to Spokane and she attended Lewis and Clark High school.
Bene was married to the love of her life Don Prentice, and they were together for 62 years until his death.
Together they had two daughters.
She was wonderful and generous woman who was always buying presents for people and helping out whomever needed help.
She volunteered for years in the gift shop at Sacred Heart Hospital where she perfected her flower arranging skills.
A fabulous wife and mother she will be missed by all.
Always up for a party and enjoying people of all ages.
In her later years, she enjoyed winters in Sun Lakes, Arizona.
Bene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, sister Rose, and nephew Gary.
She is survived by her dog Rudy, daughters Patti Thompson (John), and Deborah Prentice (Kevin); stepgrandchildren Debra Thompson, Darcy Thompson, Lincoln Thompson (Mary), Dana Carver (Kyle); and their children Paydn, Kayla, Blaine, Cole, and Talise, step grandchild Sara Galloway (Tyler); nephew Gail Billesbach (Lynn); grandniece Heidi Strobel (Brian) and their children Karly and Emma; grandnephew Mark Billesbach (Heidi) and their children Daniel, Ashley, and Hailey; grandnephew Brian Billesbach and his child Brandon.
A special thanks to her caregiver PJ Snow for taking such good care of her and allowing her to stay in her home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center in honor of Bene Prentice at “UW Medicine, Box 358045, Seattle, WA 98195-8045” or The Monastery of St. Clare, 4419 N. Hawthorne Street, Spokane, WA 99205.
There will be a memorial mass at Our Lady of Fatima on May 14th at 2:30 PM with a celebration of life at Manito Golf and Country Club immediately following the service.
