John Clifford Coe
John Clifford Coe, 63, of Lubbock, TX passed away on March 5, 2015.
John was born December 25, 1951, in Havre, MT to Clyde and Lila Coe.
He grew up in Whitefish, MT and later moved to Auburn, WA, where he graduated from Auburn High School in 1970.
John married Karen Ferderer on June 17, 1972, and they had two children.
John began his career with Burlington Northern Railroad in 1970, and worked at various locations throughout the U.S., including Birmingham, AL, Fort Worth, Texas and Whitefish, MT.
He moved to Spokane in 2001 and retired as a yardmaster in 2011 after 41 years of service.
After retiring, John and Karen moved to Lubbock, Texas.
Although they enjoyed the warmer climate, there was always a special place in his heart for Spokane.
John enjoyed woodworking, reading, and spending time with family.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Kim, and brother, Donnie Olson.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Osborne and husband, Charles of Arlington, Texas; son, Michael Coe of Spokane, WA brother, Gary Olson of Maple Valley, WA, brother-in-law, Bruce Ferderer of Auburn, WA, and several nieces and nephews.
Karen Ann Coe
Karen Ann Coe, 64, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on May 4, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Karen was born to Joe and Evelyn Ferderer on October 24, 1951, in Seattle.
She grew up in Seattle and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1969.
She moved to Auburn, WA and married John Coe on June 17, 1972.
They had two children and she was very devoted to her family.
They moved to Birmingham, AL in 1987 and later lived in Fort Worth, TX and Kalispell, MT.
After living in Kalispell for six years, they moved to Spokane in 2001.
While living in Spokane, Karen was a very active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, where she served as an usher and a volunteer for the Hospitality Committee.
Along with her family and church, Karen’s two passions in life were sewing and gardening.
After her husband retired in 2011, they moved to Lubbock, Texas.
Although she enjoyed a warmer climate, there was always a special place in her heart for Spokane.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Shannon Osborne and husband, Charles of Arlington, TX, son, Michael of Spokane, brother, Bruce Ferderer of Auburn, WA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass for John and Karen will celebrated on Friday, May 13, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 34th and Perry Street in Spokane.
