Obituary: Schneiderman, Mary Noreen
(Breslin)
August 30, 1946 - May 2, 2016
Born in Los Angeles, she was raised in Twisp, WA and later moved to Spokane, where she graduated from Marycliff High School and married Larry Schneiderman of New Hartford, Iowa.
As an active and supportive military wife, she thoroughly loved all of the travels that being part of the USAF for over 20 years brought; they raised their children in California, Wyoming, Germany, Ohio, and Hawaii before retiring in Spokane.
She had a love for sports and enthusiastically supported her children’s sports events through the years, so much so that occasionally she would have to pick her dentures up off the ground!
She was a familiar face at the activities of all of her grandchildren, including - Boy Scouts, baseball, football, theater, rodeo, hockey, volleyball, softball, and more.
She followed the Mariners and Seahawks but always had a soft spot for the Denver Broncos and couldn’t have been happier when ‘her team’ won the Super Bowl this year!
Mary had a fierce spirit and a wonderful sense of humor.
She was the bravest of women; along with numerous serious health conditions, she courageously and relentlessly battled breast cancer for 20 years.
She jokingly but proudly said that she had everything except diabetes and that it was only because she was so mean and ornery that was able to live as long as she did!
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Jessie Breslin and is survived by her siblings Colleen Thomas (Charlie), CJ Breslin (Jan), Denis Breslin (Jean Marie), and Linda Phillips.
Her children, Tawnya Becker (Greg), Steve Schneiderman (Tracy), Joe Schneiderman, Brian Schneiderman (Yolanda), and Janell Brown (Kevin), and her former husband, Larry Schneiderman.
She was the very best Gramzilla ever to Joshua, Collin (Heather), Austin, Jessie, Evan, Colton, and Kate-Lyn.
There was a special place in her heart for her many nephews and nieces and their children.
She was devout in her Catholic faith and we are honored to invite you to attend both a Rosary Vigil on Thursday, May 12 at 6:00pm and Funeral Mass celebrated on Friday, May 13 at 11:00am.
Both services will be held at St. Thomas More Parish, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way, in Spokane.
