(Age 69)

Lost her five and a half year battle with lung cancer and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 28th.

She was born to Tom and Gloria Liebert on September 19, 1946 in Bellingham, Washington.

She was raised and graduated from Peshastin-Dryden High School near Leavenworth, WA.
She moved to Spokane in 1974 and married Denny McDaniel.

She had three children Denise (Van) Nelson of Seattle, Danyll Van Lierop of Spokane, and Darin (Shea) McDaniel of Rathdrum; five grandchildren: Brandon, Taryn, Kira, Gabe, and Kailey.

Jan is survived by many family members and friends and by her two buddies KoKo and Tommy D. her two Shih-Tzu puppies.
Jan’s love of the outdoors were camping, water-skiing, snow skiing, and fishing.

Her real love however, was travelling.

She traveled the country and the world with her friends at every opportunity even after her monthly treatments for cancer.

Say the word Caribbean and she was ready to go!
Jan happily went to work for Washington Water Power (Avista) for 37 years and made a multitude of friends.

She moved to her dream home in Hayden, Idaho in 2004 and attended Lake City Church in Coeur d’Alene.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents; Tom and Gloria Liebert.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all at Cancer Care Northwest, especially Dr. Danko Martincic and Teresa Ogden.

Given just a short time to live, they managed to get for her an additional five and a half years of life which family and friends consider one of God’s finest miracles.
The Bible defines Jan’s battle very eloquently in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18: “Therefore we do not lose heart.

Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen.

For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
