Age 75

SCHULTZ, Patty J.

Mom passed away at home on May 8, 2016 at the age of 75.

She was born on June 18, 1940 in Portland, OR to Freeman and Helen Strait.

At age four, mom’s family moved to Melrose, WI.

She graduated from high school in 1958 and moved to Milwaukee, WI where she attended secretarial school.

After the death of her mother, Helen Strait, mom moved to Napa, CA and began a career as a clerk typist with the Federal Government.

In 1970 mom met and soon married Robert E. Schultz.

Together they had five children.

With dad serving in the U.S. Navy, mom decided to give up her career and stayed at home to raise their children.

After dad retired from the U.S. Navy in 1981, they moved all over until settling in Missoula, MT.

Our family moved to Spokane in August of 1989.

Mom had a deep faith and was a devout Roman Catholic.

When she no longer could attend services, she watched daily Mass and prayed the Rosary with Mother Angelica on EWTN.

She was passionate about her trees and gardens, loved to sew, and cook for the family during the holidays.

Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Roberta A. Schultz, Timothy A. Schultz, Samuel A. Schultz, Jessica A. Schultz, and Philip A. Schultz; her two grandsons Patrick A. M. Schultz and Brandon A. Schultz all of Spokane; and her brother Raymond Strait’s wife Rose of Melrose, WI and their children.
