Eleanor Merle

Eleanor Merle Bull passed away May 15, 2016 in Spokane, Washington.

She was born April 19, 1925 in Weston, Oregon, the daughter of Roy and Ora “Nettie” (Hyatt) May.

Her education included the early years in a one room school house in Athena, Oregon.

She and her sister being the only two students.

She graduated from Athena High School in 1943.

Eleanor married Kenneth D. Bull on May 29, 1943 in Walla Walla, Washington and were married two weeks short of their 73rd anniversary.

She worked in the Albertson’s Bakery department for 25 plus years before retiring and moving to Bayview, Idaho in 1983.

In 2005 they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for three years, moving to Spokane, Washington in 2008 until her passing.

She was a snowbird; wintering in Welton Arizona from 1995 to 2005 and lived at Manor Care in North Spokane for the last 3 1/2 years.

Her hobbies included square dancing, snow mobile trips, golf, bowling, motorcycling across the country from Washington to Florida and back.

She also enjoyed baking chocolate chip cookies for visitors.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Vona Belle James and two brothers; Fay May and Stan May
.
Survivors include her husband Kenneth Bull; two children: Claudine (Bill) Ostin, Spokane, WA, and Keith (Tamera) Bull of Federal Way, WA; three grandsons: Dan (Carolyn) Carlson, David Carlson and Floyd Bull; two great-grandchildren: Brianna Carlson and Hunter Carlson also survive.

Viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel and Graveside Services will be 2:30 pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane, WA.
