Teen crashes down embankment while using phone
A teenage girl was injured Monday night after crashing her car over an embankment east of Liberty Lake.
The girl told deputies she was on her phone while driving, the Spokane Valley Fire Department said in a news release. She crashed in the 25800 block of East River Road just before 9 p.m.
Her car went over a 50-foot embankment and landed on concrete and rocks, the release said. She was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center with minor injuries.
Two firefighters developed an allergic reaction to something in the area and were taken to the hospital as a precaution. There were no other injuries.
