Post Falls man dies in Monday traffic collision

A Post Falls man died Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Post Falls.

David T. Parent, 32, was killed when his 2001 Oldsmobile struck a 1988 Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Pleasant View Road about 3:20 p.m., the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said.

An initial investigation and witness statements indicate that Parent failed to yield from the stop sign on Prairie Avenue and drove into the path of the Jeep, driven by Timothy L. Stinson, 41, of Post Falls.

Stinson was transported to Kootenai Health with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s traffic team has asked that anyone with information on the collision contact the sheriff’s office.
