Prep roundup: Late field goal helps West Valley earn play-in berth
Chase Howat kicked a 26-yard field goal in the fourth quarter Friday to lift visiting West Valley (8-1, 3-1) over Clarkston (6-3, 2-2) 17-14, giving the Eagles the second Great Northern League play-in berth.
Hunter Wright had an 8-yard touchdown run and a 20-yard TD pass to Connor Whitney.
Pullman 28, East Valley 27: Jake Cillay hooked up with Joe Tingstad on a 68-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter and the Greyhounds (7-2, 4-0) held off the Eagles (3-5, 1-2).
Ryan Johnson hit Colin Spendlove for a 10-yard touchdown pass to pull East Valley to within one point, but the point-after attempt was blocked.
Pullman won the league title and the No. 1 berth to a state play-in game next week.
Northeast A
Deer Park 28, Newport 21 (OT): Trayton Bird ran for 181 yards and three touchdowns, including the winner in the second overtime, and the visiting Stags (8-1, 7-0) edged the Grizzlies (5-4, 4-3).
Deer Park won the league and has a bye through to the state playoffs first round.
Freeman 42, Riverside 8: Ben Darcy had two 5-yard touchdown runs and the visiting Scotties (7-2, 5-2) built a huge first-half lead and beat the Rams (1-7, 1-6).
Freeman earned the second bye through to state.
Colville 43, Chewelah 12: Jakob Larsen rushed for 137 yards with a touchdown and the visiting Indians (6-3, 5-2) defeated the Cougars (3-5, 2-5).
Dawson Flugel had 118 receiving yards with a touchdown and John Knight passed for 156 yards.
Colville will face a state play-in game next week.
Lakeside 47, Medical Lake 13: Kasen Hunsaker rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two more to help the Eagles (5-4, 4-3) top the visiting Cardinals (0-9, 0-7) in Nine Mile Falls.

Northwest Christian 27, Davenport 6: Silas Perreiah had 168 yards rushing with two touchdowns and the visiting Crusaders (9-1) beat the Gorillas (3-7).
Top-seeded NWC will host No. 6 seed Reardan next week in a state play-in game.
Liberty 32, Springdale 8: Tyler Hass rushed for 215 yards and scored three touchdowns – two rushing and one receiving – and the visiting Lancers (8-1) handled the Chargers (0-9).
Second-seeded Liberty hosts No. 5 seed Kettle Falls next week in a state play.
Asotin 43, Wilbur-Creston 14: Beau Magnuson ran for a 45-yard touchdown, threw a 19-yard TD pass to Jake Dilling and returned an interception 21 yards for another score and the Panthers (8-1) defeated the visiting Wildcats (1-8).
Braden Jagannath returned an interception 99 yards for another score.
Third-seeded Asotin will host No. 4 seed Colfax next week in a state play-in game.
Colfax 24, Kettle Falls 15: Dane Hall had a pair of short touchdown runs and the Bulldogs (7-3) won in Kettle Falls (4-6).
Reardan 34, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 7: Justis Anderson threw three touchdown passes and the visiting Indians (4-5) beat the Broncos (3-6).

Odessa-Harrington 50, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 12: Sage Elder carried 19 times for 189 yards with three touchdowns and the visiting Titans (8-0, 5-0) beat the Warriors (8-1, 4-1) to take the NE1B South season title.
Inchelium 42, Republic 34: Waylon Lelone had 332 total rushing yards and three touchdowns and the Hornets (8-1, 5-0) earned the NE1B North regular season title, defeating the visiting Tigers (4-5, 3-2).
Winston Finley added 112 rushing yards and one touchdown for Inchelium.
Southeast 1B
Brady Chadwick went 19 for 26 and 314 yards and also ran for 56 yards and the visiting Wildcats (6-3, 2-2) beat the Vikings (5-3, 2-2).
Idaho
Emmett 48, Sandpoint 21: Host Emmett built a 28-0 lead and held off the Bulldogs (4-6, 1-1) in an Idaho 4A State playoff matchup. Levi Irish rushed for 100 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown for the Bulldogs.
