Thank you, SPD officers

It is with sincere gratitude that I share my recent experience with the Spokane Police Department. My vehicle was stolen from our home in mid-February. Coincidentally, a week later an individual tried to break into my home while I was alone. Needless to say, the experience has been a difficult one.

Earlier this week, my vehicle was recovered. Both a male and female have been arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.

I could not be more pleased with the response of the Spokane Police Department. Every officer I encountered was kind, courteous and had an unmistakable dedication to their profession. Specifically, I want to recognize Officer Traci Ponto, Officer Jason Uberuaga and Officer Stephanie Kennedy with whom I had communication throughout these incidents. I did not know how to react to the challenges I was facing, or the appropriate questions to ask. These officers provided guidance in a manner that was clear and caring. Their professionalism, quality persistence, thorough communication and obvious care for their community showed throughout all of our interactions.

We should all be proud to be citizens of a city with a police force who responds with such integrity and determination to provide quality service.
