Woman’s body found in Coeur d’Alene River bed between Kellogg and Smelterville

A woman’s body was found Tuesday along the Coeur d’Alene River between Kellogg and Smelterville, Idaho.

A fishermen apparently made the discovery and contacted the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office and Kellogg Police Department, according to a sheriff’s office news release posted to Facebook.

It is unknown where along the river the body was located, only that it was somewhere between the two cities.

Investigators are working to determine the woman’s identity and cause of death, the release states. An autopsy will be conducted later this week.
