Ironman CdA competitor in critical condition after being hit by support car

An Ironman competitor was listed in critical condition Sunday night after being hit by an Ironman support car, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

Crystal E. O’Conner, a 52-year-old Bozeman, Montana, resident, was a cyclist during the collision, which occurred around 1 p.m. near U.S. Highway 95 and Putnam Road.

O’Conner was airlifted to Kootenai Health. The driver of the support car, 65-year-old Michael R. Fuller, was not injured.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the collision.
