Girls basketball roundup: McKenna Russell’s 19 points helps Mead upset undefeated North Central

McKenna Russell scored 19 points and the Mead Panthers (3-4, 1-4) upset the visiting North Central Indians (5-1, 2-1) 55-38 on Tuesday in a Greater Spokane League game.

Victoria Veter added 12 points for the Panthers. Elyce Piper and Quincy McDeid each scored 11 for the Indians.

Lewis and Clark 45, Mt. Spokane 44: Dominique Arquette scored 16 points and the Tigers (5-5, 3-1) beat the visiting Wildcats (5-4, 2-1). Jacinta Buckley scored 12 points with 14 rebounds and Anna Reeves added nine rebounds for the Tigers. Aspyn Adams scored 16 points for the Wildcats.

Central Valley 75, Ferris 10: Lexie Hull had 20 points with 13 rebounds and the visiting Bears (5-0, 4-0) defeated the Saxons (0-7, 0-4). Lacie Hull added 11 points with seven steals for the Bears and Tomekia Whitman had 13 points. For the Saxons, Bailey Warnica led the way with five points.

Gonzaga Prep 64, Shadle Park 31: Devyn Muse led a balanced attack with 15 points and the visiting Bullpups (4-2, 3-1) beat the Highlanders (2-6, 1-2). Eleven Bullpups scored on the night. Willow Risinger led the Highlanders with 10 points.

University 62, Rogers 18: Claire Dingus scored 12 points and the Titans (2-4, 2-2) defeated the Pirates (1-6, 0-3). Kinsley Barrington added 11 for the Titans. Akon Aleu led the Pirates with five points.

Northeast 2B

Davenport 48, Colfax 40: Sydney Abbott scored 12 points and the Gorillas (6-1, 6-0) defeated the visiting Bulldogs (5-2, 3-1). Abbott also had six steals while Darby Soliday pitched in 10 points. For the Bulldogs, Carmen Gfeller led the way with 12 points.

Northeast 1B

Curlew 59, Columbia 9: Korin Baker scored 22 points and the Cougars (5-3, 4-2) beat the visiting Lions (0-7, 0-6). MeganJoe Beedle added 12 points for the Cougars. Madysen McLain led the Lions with five points.

Nonleague

West Valley 68, Freeman 50: Lea McGlothlen scored 24 points and the Eagles (2-2) defeated the Scotties (2-1). Keara Sinclair pitched in 14 points for the Eagles. Jordyn Goldsmith led the Scotties with 11.

Northwest Christian 58, Coeur d’Alene 47: Mattea Nelson and Natalie Smith scored 16 points and the Crusaders (4-2) defeated the visiting Vikings (2-5). Rey Louden had a game-high 21 points for the Vikings.

Oakesdale 47, Riverside 13: Emma Perry scored 14 points and the visiting Nighthawks (7-1) defeated the Rams (2-4). Hailey Lucas scored a team-high four points for the Rams.

Liberty 64, Tekoa-Rosalia 23: Delaney Goodwin scored 13 points and the Lancers (2-1) defeated the visiting Timberwolves (1-5). Alison Kalmes had eight points for the Timberwolves.

Odessa 50, Wilbur-Creston 36: Maddy Wagner scored 19 points and the visiting Tigers (4-4) defeated the Wildcats (1-7). Shie Springstead had 11 points for the Wildcats.

St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 59, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 54: Peyton Curtis scored 21 points and the Broncos (2-4) defeated the visiting Eagles (3-5). Lacey Miller added 16 points for the Broncos. Glory Dickerson led the Eagles with 16 points.

Timberlake 67, Lakeland 18: Brooke Jessen scored 23 points and the Tigers (7-2) defeated the visiting Hawks (2-6) 67-18 in a nonleague game. Sofi Schnepf had seven points for the Hawks.

Pomeroy 51, Sunnyside Christian 47: Sydney Watko scored 16 points and the visiting Pirates (6-1) defeated the Knights (5-0). Sailor Liefke led the Knights with 15 points.

Prairie 64, Asotin 23: India Peery scored 17 points and the visiting Pirates (8-0) defeated the Panthers (1-2). Adrienne Washington scored a team-high 11 points for the Panthers.
