Whitworth softball sweeps doubleheader with Cal Lutheran
Myranda Ramirez went 4 for 4 with a run scored in the first game of Whitworth’s doubleheader sweep of Cal Lutheran in nonleague play in Thousand Oaks, California, on Thursday.
Whitworth (6-2) took the first game 4-2, highlighted by a three-run first. Tessa Matthews finished 3 for 4 with an RBI.
In the second game, Logan Miller went 2 for 4 with a pair or runs, Shannon Wessel drove in two and the Pirates won 4-3.
Madi Perez (4-0) and Sarah Ballinger (2-0) were the winning pitchers.
Whitworth continues its California schedule with a doubleheader at Whittier on Friday.
