Women’s Top 25 Capsules: Stanford, Oregon State win to stay tied atop Pac-12

STANFORD, Calif. – Brittany McPhee scored 12 of her 26 points in the third quarter, helping No. 8 Stanford rally past Colorado 64-51 on Friday night.

The Cardinal (21-4, 11-2) moved into a three-way tie for first place in the Pac-12 after No. 9 Oregon State lost at home to Southern California. Stanford, Washington and OSU all are 11-2 in conference play.

Erica McCall shot just 4 for 13, but contributed 15 points and 10 rebounds for Stanford. McPhee, whose point total was just two shy of her personal best, added a career-high 11 rebounds.

Mckenzie Ellis scored 14 points for the Buffaloes (13-11, 3-10), who shot 32 percent for the game.

USC 70, No. 9 Oregon State 50

CORVALLIS – Sadie Edwards scored 17 points, Courtney Jaco had 15 and Southern California snapped Oregon State’s seven-game winning streak.

The victory stopped a two-game slide for USC (13-11, 4-9 Pac-12). Kristen Simon added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Trojans.

Sydney Wiese had 17 points for Oregon State (22-3, 11-2). With two assists, Wiese moved within one of Leilani Estavan’s career record (577) for the Beavers.

No. 10 Washington 91, Arizona 55

SEATTLE – Kelsey Plum had 22 points and seven assists, helping Washington to the easy win.

Plum, who was averaging 30.9 points coming into the night, was 6 for 12 from the field and 8 for 8 from the line. She also had five rebounds.

The Huskies (22-3, 11-2 Pac-12) had four players score in double figures in their third straight win since a 72-68 loss to Stanford. Chantel Osahor had 14 points and 19 rebounds, and Natalie Romeo and freshman Aarion McDonald each finished with 13 points.

LaBrittney Jones led Arizona with 18 points on 7-of-17 shooting. The Wildcats (11-13, 2-11) have lost seven in a row.

Oregon 84, No. 15 UCLA 74

EUGENE – Lexi Bando scored a season-high 25 points and Sabrina Ionescu had her fourth triple-double of the season, leading Oregon to the victory.

Ionescu, a 5-foot-10 freshman, finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Ruthy Hebard, also a freshman, had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Ducks (16-9, 6-7 Pac-12).

Jordin Canada had 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists for UCLA (18-6, 9-4). Monique Billings added 18 points and 12 rebounds.

No. 14 Duke 72, No. 20 Syracuse 55

DURHAM, N.C. – Rebecca Greenwell had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Duke beat Syracuse.

Oderah Chidom added 16 points, Kendall Cooper had 12, and Lexie Brown finished with nine points, 11 rebounds and eight assists for the Blue Devils (21-4, 9-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). They have won four straight and six of seven.

Alexis Peterson scored 19 points for Syracuse (17-8, 8-4).

No. 18 Depaul 70, Xavier 43

CINCINNATI – Brooke Schulte scored 15 points to help DePaul rout Xavier.

Jacqui Grant added 12 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks for the Blue Demons (21-5, 13-1 Big East). They have won five straight. Marquia Turner led Xavier (11-13, 3-10) with 16 points.

No. 23 Arizona State 61, Washington State 58

PULLMAN – Sophie Brunner’s putback gave Arizona State the lead and Sabrina Haines added four points in the final 1:10.

Haines scored a season-high 17 points for Arizona State (16-8, 7-6 Pac-12). She and Brunner, who finished with eight, combined for all of the Sun Devils’ 16 fourth-quarter points. Alexys Swedlund scored 14 points for the Cougars (10-14, 5-8).
