Gonzaga’s Karnowski finalists for Senior CLASS Award

Gonzaga’s Przemek Karnowski and Washington State’s Josh Hawkinson on Wednesday were named finalists for the 2016-17 Senior CLASS Award.

The award is presented to an NCAA Division I senior with notable achievements in community, classroom, character and competition.

Karnowski is averaging a career-high 12.4 points and 5.7 rebounds. He leads the WCC in field-goal percentage (68.4) in conference games. He’s GU’s all-time leader in wins with 126.

Karnowski is working on his master’s degree in the MBA program and has a 3.43 grade-point average. He’s made numerous visits to local hospitals and the Boys and Girls Club.

Hawkinson is the only Pac-12 student-athlete to be named a finalist for the award. He and Karnowski are joined by Jaron Blossomgame (Clemson), Evan Bradds (Belmont), Josh Hart (Villanova), Nigel Hayes (Wisconsin), Amile Jefferson (Duke), Peter Jok (Iowa), Tim Kempton (Lehigh) and Frank Mason III (Kansas).
