Civil Service Commission

The commission reviews applications, hears grievances and investigates disciplinary issues for the Sheriff’s Office. It meets at 2 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the county’s Human Resources Building, 1229 W. Mallon Ave. Members are expected to review files and participate in special meetings on some other days.

Applicants must have lived in Spokane County for at least two years and must be a registered voter. At the time of appointment, only three of the commission’s five members can belong to the same political party.

Terms last six years. The commission is seeking a member to serve after a current term expires on March 15.
