Local actor pleads guilty to molesting teen he met through Spokane Civic Theatre

A Spokane man who has appeared on the Spokane Civic Theatre stage several times recently pleaded guilty to molesting a teenage boy he met through the theater.

Carl L. Vincent, 57, was first arrested on child molestation charges in March. He is accused of repeatedly fondling the leg and genitals of the teen during the summer and fall of 2014 when the boy was 15 and 16.

The teen’s family had been heavily involved in the theater for years and were all friends with Vincent, according to court documents.

Kearney Jordan, a Civic Theatre spokeswoman, said Vincent hasn’t been involved in the organization since he appeared in “A Christmas Carol: The Musical” at the end of 2014. Vincent’s biography still appears on the theater’s web site.

Vincent, who has no prior criminal history, is in the Spokane County Jail awaiting sentencing.
