Somebody needs you

Volunteers of America’s Parent Child Visitation Program serves vulnerable children and families throughout multiple counties in Eastern Washington. When parents and children are not able to live together we provide ongoing visitation for the families to have an opportunity to spend time together while parents work through the court system to regain custody of their children.

Many of the families we serve are experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental illness, and chemical dependency issues. While receiving many other services to address their needs, it is our goal and mission to ensure the families have a safe, loving atmosphere to be able to maintain their bond with one another.

Our families and staff have created a wish list of items that would provide a great opportunity for play and fun:

Strollers – Umbrella strollers and a stroller that could hold an infant or a car seat.

Soft balls – Squishy soft balls to toss around indoors or outdoors.

Sports balls – Footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, four square balls

Basketball hoop – For playing PIG, HORSE, or just some one-on-one with Mom and Dad.

Frisbees

Buckets and shovels for playing in the sand, gathering things from outside and water play.

Playground equipment for a big outdoor space at the Parent Child Visitation Program located at the Holy Names Convent. It would be great if there was some sort of play equipment for the children to enjoy outdoors.

Outdoor playhouse – For playing house, restaurant, or just for the children to hang out in while Mom and Dad sit at the window and play with them.

Sand and water table – Little ones love to play in sand and water during the warm weather months, it gives them a great sensory activity to explore and learn with their parents.

Outdoor toy chest for storing all the outside toys to keep them clean and nice.

High chairs for babies. We have restaurant high chairs that are too large for the smaller children who then must be held to be fed.

Booster seats for children too big for high chairs. We’d love to have some booster seats so children could fit in the chairs and sit up at the dining room tables.

Foam floor mats - Many of our floors are hard concrete so the children can’t tumble and roll around on them.
