Education

The Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation have announced a new addition to its board of directors. Jordan Page, senior manager at Moss Adams, has been elected to a two-year leadership role as an officer.

Eastern Washington University has hired two new directors of philanthropy. Pat Eiseman has been hired as senior director of philanthropy for the College of Arts, Letters & Education after seven years working as a development director with the School of Medicine at Loma Linda University, in Loma Linda, California. Dennis Hake has been hired as director of philanthropy for the College of Health Science & Public Health. Hake comes to EWU from Catholic Charities Spokane and its foundation.

Law

Keller Allen has been named one of Washington state’s Top 100 Lawyers by Super Lawyers Magazine. Selection to the list is based on peer nomination and evaluation.

Miscellaneous

Shannon Oakley has been promoted by The Spokane Cleaning Authority to director of operations. Oakley has worked with the locally owned residential cleaning business since September 2016.

Spokane Youth Sports Association has hired Deb Brock as its new soccer coordinator. Brock, who was recently the president of the Inland Empire Soccer Referee Association, has 25 years experience in coaching and refereeing soccer.

Real Estate

Dina Cole has been promoted to senior property manager for Kiemle & Hagood Co.’s Spokane office. Cole has been with Kiemle & Hagood since 2011.

Science

Stephanie Hampton has been named chair of the National Science Foundation biological sciences advisory committee. Hampton, director of Washington State University’s Center for Environmental Research Education and Outreach, does research in aquatic sciences and environmental informatics, traveling to lakes from Siberia to Seattle to collect data.

Transportation

Three employees of Spokane Transit Authority have recently been honored. Emily Arneson has received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Washington State Bar Association for her contributions to the community. Arneson STA’s community ombudsman and accessibility officer. Brandon Rapez-Betty has received Mass Transit’s 40 under 40 recognition, awarded to those demonstrating innovation, leadership and commitment to transit. Rapez-Betty also received the Spokane Journal of Business Rising Star award. Rapez-Betty is the customer and community relations manager at STA and has led the public outreach programs for STA’s plaza renovation and fare increase. Kathleen Weinand, principal transit planner, has been selected for the American Public Transit Association’s Emerging Leaders Program, honoring early-career transit professionals.

The Better Business Bureau is accepting nominations for the 2017 Business of the Year Torch Awards, recognizing companies, charities and employees who demonstrate personal character, integrity and the highest standards of ethics.
