Man treated for gunshot wound, gunman still on the loose after north Spokane shooting

A man was shot in the leg and the gunman is still on the loose after a shooting in north Spokane Tuesday evening.

The shooting occurred near Regal Street and Wellesley Avenue at about 9 p.m. Police searched for the shooter but could not locate him.

The man who was shot and whose identity has not been released was not cooperative with police and resisted going to the hospital, said Spokane Police Sargent Dan Waters. He eventually was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe there is no threat to the public.
