Przemek Karnowski stands tall in SI’s NCAA tournament cover
SALT LAKE CITY – The most physically daunting player in the 2016-2017 NCAA tournament would be easy to find no matter where he was placed on Sports Illustrated’s March Madness cover.
But Przemek Karnowski is placed front and center in the annual cover, which hits newsstands on March 20.
Gonzaga fans won’t have to worry about an SI cover jinx, however. Karnowski is highlighted in a sea of players, mascots and coaches from every men’s team invited to the Big Dance, as well as top women’s teams, giving Zags fans perhaps the easiest version of Where’s Waldo ever played.
The collage-style cover is a throwback. SI started tradition in 2003, and printed them every year until taking a hiatus in 2012. In the past, GU stars like Ronny Turiaf, Adam Morrison and Matt Bouldin have been prominently displayed.
Now the collage covers are back, and Karnowski is leading the madness from the front of the pack.
