Man struck and killed by vehicle north of Garfield identified

The man struck and killed by a vehicle while walking down the middle of SR 27 on Sunday night has been identified as 42-year-old Donavon D. Harring, according to the Spokane medical examiner.

Harring, a Spokane man, was hit four miles north of Garfield at milepost 28 around 11 p.m. before he was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The driver was 53-year-old Steven R. Church of Mill City, Oregon, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup. The driver was not impaired, according to WSP.
