Man, 22, dies after crash in Coeur d’Alene intersection
A 22-year-old man has died of injuries from a car accident that blocked a busy intersection Sunday evening in Coeur d’Alene.
Casey Mitchell was a passenger in his mother’s SUV when she ran a red light and struck a pickup truck at Ramsey Road and Golf Course Road just after 8 p.m., according to the Idaho State Police.
Annette Mitchell, 49, had been transporting her son because of an unspecified medical emergency, according to the ISP. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
The Mitchells, along with the driver of the pickup truck, David Delgado, 50, were transported to Kootenai Health, where Casey Mitchell died on Tuesday, according to the ISP.
A hospital spokeswoman said Friday that Annette Mitchell and Delgado had been treated and released.
