Children report two women tried to lure them into a car in north Spokane

Spokane police are investigating a reported kidnapping attempt in which two women tried to lure children into their car in the Nevada Heights neighborhood.

Two children were walking near East Crown Avenue and North Morton Street when the women approached and “attempted to talk them into their vehicle” at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, police said in a news release.

A teenager witnessed the incident, and the children reported it to their mother after the women drove away, police said. The mother reported seeing the vehicle, a red Honda Civic hatchback, pass through the area two additional times.

The women in the car were described as Native American. Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
