Weekend weather: More snow and rain heading into March

Some snow and rain is expected in the Spokane area late this week and into the weekend.

On Thursday the National Weather Service expects snow before 10 a.m. turning to rain with a high near 40 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Up to 2 inches of new snow could accumulate.

Some snow could fall Friday before 9 a.m. followed by rain between 9 and 10 a.m. turning to rain later in the morning. A high of 42 degrees is expected. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent, according to the National Weather Service. Less than half and inch of snow accumulation is possible.

Friday night there is a chance of rain and snow before 7 p.m. followed by a slight chance of snow.

Saturday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 42 degrees. Saturday night the low will be 24 degrees.

Sunday there is a slight chance of snow before 11 a.m. followed by snow and rain. The high will be near 41 degrees and the chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
