Inmate, 36, dies in Montana jail; few details released

HELENA, Mont. – Authorities say a 36-year-old inmate has died at the Jefferson County jail in western Montana.

The Independent Record reports Jesse Ryan Athearn, of Helena, died Thursday, and an autopsy is planned. Lewis and Clark County Coroner Bryan Backeberg says the Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigations is involved in the case.

No other information was released.
