The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has appointed Providence St. Joseph executive Elaine Couture to the board of directors of its Seattle branch.
Couture is the CEO and executive vice president of Providence St. Joseph Health’s Washington and Montana region. She oversees a health system that includes 13 hospitals, including Sacred Health Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Holy Family Hospital in Spokane. More than 23,000 people work for the system.
She’s also an adjunct professor at Washington State University’s School of Nursing.
Couture’s appointment to the Federal Reserve Bank’s Seattle board was effective Jan. 1. She will serve a three-year term.
Couture will replace Scott Morris, chairman and CEO of Avista Corp., whose term expired.
