Keep our water clean
I’m Casper, and I’m from Spokane, Washington. I’m writing to inform you of what precautions you can take in order to keep the local water source clean and healthy. First you should know that there are two types of pollution: source point pollution and non-source point pollution. Source point pollution is pollution that we can track, while non-source pollution can’t be tracked. Now, here are five ways to limit the amount of pollution you create:
1. Use less fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, etc. on your lawn.
2. Make sure to pick up after your animals, and not to let your animals go into waterways.
3. If you have or see trash, make sure to put it in the correct receptacle and make sure no trash is left on the floor or ground.
4. Check oil on your car and make sure nothing is leaking.
5. Make sure that man-made products such as gasoline, oil, road salts and chemicals don’t get into the groundwater.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message, we can keep our water clean if we work together!
