Spokane police arrested two men late Thursday in a car stolen during a carjacking.

The car was taken at gunpoint on June 2 in Spokane Valley, Spokane police said in a news release.

On Thursday night, police located it in Hillyard just before 10 p.m., police said. The car fled officers when they tried to pull it over.

The car led police through downtown, the South Hill and the East Central neighborhood before officers conducted a pursuit intervention technique to bring stop the car near Freya Street and Fifth Avenue, police said. A PIT maneuver involves a police car bumping the back of a car while in pursuit, causing the driver to lose control.

The driver, Jeremy Shelton, 31, and a passenger, Ethan Stowe-Reasoner, 28, were arrested on the scene.

They were booked into the Spokane County Jail on ID theft, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine charges.

Police said no injuries occurred as a result of the pursuit.
