EWU’s Hodgins, Idaho’s Ferenz are again All-Big Sky first-teamers

Eastern Washington senior forward Delaney Hodgins and Idaho junior guard Mikayla Ferenz were named to the All-Big Sky women’s basketball first team for the second straight season, it was announced Sunday.

Idaho senior forward Geri McCorkell was a second-team pick, EWU junior guard Violet Kapri Morrow was chosen for the third team and Idaho junior guard Taylor Pierce was given honorable mention.

Hodgins, averaging 22.6 points per game, scored in double figures in 28 out of 30 games this season, including a current streak of 27 straight. She broke the EWU career scoring record and has 2,105 points.

Ferenz is averaging 22.7 points per game. Her 114 3-point field goals are fourth in the NCAA and tied for the Idaho and conference single-season records.

Savannah Smith of Northern Colorado was named MVP.
