The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in Post Falls Saturday night after a shooting incident led to the death of a 24-year-old man.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting on South Gallatin Road in Post Falls at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff’s office news release. They found Tyler S. Liles lying on the ground near a home with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Deputies attempted lifesaving measures, but were unsuccessful.

William C. Carlson, 41, who was also at the scene, was arrested for involuntary manslaughter and booked into the Kootenai County Jail.

In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office wrote that the incident appeared to be isolated and no one else was in danger.
