Montana will test for CWD

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will be sampling deer and elk for bovine tuberculosis (TB) while conducting CWD surveillance during the coming general big game season, according to a news release.

Bovine TB is primarily a disease of cattle but can occasionally affect many other species of mammals, including – but rarely –humans. The disease has not been detected in wildlife in Montana since the early 1990s.
