Shadle pool closed Thursday due to contamination

Shadle Aquatic Center in North Spokane closed for part of Wednesday and all day Thursday to clean a fecal contamination, according to Spokane Parks and Recreation.

“It does happen, especially when you have lots of small children in the pool,” said Josh Oakes, Parks and Recreation spokesman.

The pool will be reopened Friday after workers run chlorine though the systems for 28 hours, compliant with standards from the Center for Disease Control, Oakes said.

The pool is located at 2005 W. Wellesley Ave.
