Man charged with multiple robberies and assaults
Prosecutors have caught up with a 21-year-old Spokane man suspected of scores of crimes during the past few years.
Sylvester T. Tuggles is jailed on multiple charges of robbery, burglary and theft. A judge on Monday set Tuggles’ bond at $110,000.
Prosecutors say Tuggles and his friends stole a red electric guitar, a camera and medication in July 2017.
On Jan. 10, 2019, Tuggles is suspected of robbing a man at gunpoint at a Pizza Hut in Spokane. The man was there to sell a cellphone.
Three days later, Tuggles is accused of robbing and assaulting a man who thought he was meeting a girl for a date. Instead, a group of Tuggles’ friends met the man. They had used a girl’s social media account to lure the man to the meeting and robbed and assaulted him, according to court documents.
That same night Tuggles was waiting in the car while friends committed multiple crimes including a nonfatal shooting, stabbing and robbery, according to records. Tuggles admitted to police he was involved in the other crimes that evening but said he stayed in the car.
Tuggles also is charged with escaping community custody for not reporting to his corrections officer after being arrested in January, court documents indicate. Tuggles was under state supervision after being convicted of felony robbery in California.
