Bigfork Point Guard Anders Epperly Breaks State Assist Record

Keith Demolder SWX
Bigfork senior point guard Anders Epperly already has a state title under his belt. But last month the senior put his name in the record books again by breaking the all-time Montana assists record. Epperly broke the original record held by Kremlin-Gilford guard Randy Robinson’s former record of 691 assists with his 692nd in a win over Mission. As the team’s main distributor, the senior point guard was vital to last year’s undefeated season and subsequent state title run. And along with sharing the ball, Epperly is quick to pass the credit to someone other than himself. “I think it was just another play that he had completed but for everyone else, it was something else,” Bigfork head coach Sam Tudor said. “I mean I just passed the thing to Clayton and he made a three-pointer,” Epperly said. “I wasn’t expecting, the whole crowd erupted…I’m not a guy that wants to bring a lot of attention to myself. So I kind of played it off I guess, I didn’t want to make too big of a deal about it.”
