UM’s Pridgett Repeats as Big Sky Player of the Week

Vince Bagby SWX
On Tuesday Montana’s Sayeed Pridgett was named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for the second time in as many weeks. The junior guard had the type of weekend that he’ll remember long past his days of donning the maroon and silver. The junior posted career highs of 29 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Weber State on Thursday and followed that up with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a win over Idaho State on Saturday. Pridgett is the first Griz to win the award in back-to-back weeks since Brian Qvale accomplished that feat in January of 2011. He is one of just three players to be named Big Sky Player of the Week three times this season. His breakout junior season continues as Pridgett has now established himself as one of the top players in the Big Sky Conference. He’s the only player in the Big Sky that ranks top 15 in the league for scoring, rebounding, field-goal percentage, assists and steals.
