SYSA fall sports signup underway

Fall registration is now open for the Spokane Youth Sports Association programs and camps.

Recreational soccer for youth players born 2015 through high school age. The 2015 rookie soccer is 50 minutes a session and taught by trained coaches. The fall signup deadline is Aug. 22.

A soccer league for players born 2006 to 2014 includes seven fall games and five spring games. Participants register by birth year. Players are allowed to “play up” one year to play with their friends and classmates. Teams are coached by volunteer coaches. Practice curriculum, coaching clinics and assistance from the SYSA’s collaborating partner, Spokane Shadow FC, are provided. Player signup deadline is today.

High school coed soccer allows teens to compete in an organized league outside of their school. Games are played Sundays at Andrew Rypien Field.

Flag football for grades 1-4 and NFL flag football for grades 5–12 are played Saturdays.

Cross country running for grades 1-6 begins in September. Participants will run 1mile at the five Saturday meets.
