Education

The Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation board has announced new members and executive leadership. Todd Woodard, director of marketing and public affairs for Spokane International Airport, has been elected president of the board. Steve Trabun, regional business manager at Avista Corp., has been elected vice president. Sean Hoagland, director of compensation and benefits at Potlatch Corp., has been elected board treasurer and vice president, financial adviser Kathy Pearson, corporate retirement director at Morgan Stanley, has been elected board secretary. New board members include Erik Larson, supervisor of the state Department of Children, Youth and Families; Jacob Parks, COO and partner of Profitable Ideas Exchange; and Gail Stevenson former executive director of the CCS Foundation.

Eastern Washington University announced its foundation board/officers for the 2019-20 year. The new members are Phillip Haugen COO of Kalispel Tribe of Indians, and Karen Weis, vice president legal/compliance of Numerica.

Honors

Super Lawyers Magazine has announced its list of top attorneys, naming Winston & Cashatt principals Kevin J. Curtis and Michael T. Howard as 2019 Super Lawyers. Super Lawyers is a research-driven rating service of lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

2020 Women on Boards has named Avista Corp. a Winning “W” Company for having more than 20% of corporate board seats held by women before the year 2020. Women have made up 40% of Avista’s corporate board for the past five years.
