Banking

Umpqua Bank has hired Paul Ellyson as vice president and commercial relationship manager at its downtown Spokane office. He has 27 years of banking experience in Spokane and previously worked for 10 years at Wells Fargo Bank.

Education

The Washington State University College of Nursing has named Julie Postma associate dean for research. She is a grant reviewer for the American Nurses Foundation, serves on the WSU Biomedical Institutional Review Board and chairs the College of Nursing’s Graduate Faculty. Postma completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Washington before accepting a faculty position at WSU.

Engineering

Coeur d’Alene-based Verdishas hired Peter Marshall as vice president of operations. He previously worked as a sales/project manager with Western Specialty Contractors in Seattle.

Law

Lukins and Annis P.S. has hired associate attorneys Courtney A. Hall and Hannah G. Kitz. Hall previously worked for the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office, and Kitz is a 2019 graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law.

Nonprofit

Inland Northwest Land Conservancy in Spokane has hired Rose Richardson as conservation and stewardship specialist. She worked previously for Whatcom Land Trust.

Honors

Hecla Mining Co.’s Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho, has been recognized for environmental stewardship practices, being named a Pollution Prevention Champion by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. The mine was one of four Idaho businesses chosen for this year’s award. Lucky Friday Mine was also named a 2018 Sentinels of Safety award winner by the National Mining Association for its safety record, receiving the award earlier this month.

The American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys has recognized Spokane attorney Steven M. Clark as a 2019 10 Best Criminal Law Attorney for Client Satisfaction. The institute is a third-party rating organization that publishes an annual list of the top 10 criminal law attorneys in each state.

The Washington State Housing Finance Commission has awarded SNAP CEO Julie Honekamp with the 2019 Friends of Housing award. Honorees are selected for their leadership and contributions to provide safe and affordable housing. Honekamp is one of seven honorees.

Shaun T. Greer of Lukins and Annis P.S. has been presented the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award by the Washington State Bar Association. He is an active member of the Spokane County Bar Association and worked to establish its LGBTA law section. He also has served as vice president of Meals on Wheels Spokane.
