Spokane Valley crews respond to small Dishman Hills brush fire
Crews from Spokane County Fire District 8 and the Spokane Valley Fire Department put out a small brush fire in the Dishman Hills Conservation Area Tuesday.
The fire in the approximately 3,000-acre natural area grew to about a quarter-acre in size, but firefighters had it under control by about 1:30 p.m., according to a tweet from the Fire District 8 firefighters union. At that point, crews were ensuring there was no fuel left to burn near the containment line.
The Spokane Fire Department and Washington Department of Natural Resources also provided support, along with Life Flight, which observed the fire from the air, according to the firefighters union.
