Briefs for Tuesday

Gesa Credit Union has inked an agreement to become primary sponsor of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s athletic programs, events and conferences.

Under the partnership, the Richland-based credit union will be a lead sponsor of the WIAA’s sportsmanship program, scholastic awards program and the Women in Sport leadership conference, which is aimed at promoting teamwork, leadership, acceptance and sportsmanship, according to a news release.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The partnership expands on an existing agreement announced last year in which Gesa Credit Union was named lead sponsor of the association’s high school state championships.

“Gesa has built an incredible relationship with the WIAA over the last year,” Don Miller, president and CEO of Gesa Credit Union said in a statement.
