HealthKootenai Prosthetics and Orthotics in Coeur d’Alene has hired Stephen Blas as a certified prosthetist/orthotist and Michael Lewenfus as a certified orthotist. Blas previously worked for the Puget Sound Veteran’s Administration and Lewenfus is a prosthetic resident.

Cancer Care Northwest has hired Corbin D. Jacobs as a radiation oncologist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas and graduated first in his medical school class. Jacobs completed his residency in radiation oncology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Honors

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital has been honored with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for the 11th consecutive year. It is the highest designation for a program serving more than three times the amount of people than any other health provider in the region. Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center also received the association’s Target: Stroke Elite Plus award, recognizing the hospital’s low arrival-to-treatment times. Providence Holy Family Hospital received Get With The Guidelines Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award.
